Get your brackets — and the dipping sauces — ready. March Madness is here.

As the NCAA’s men’s and women’s basketball tournaments crank up, many fans will be looking to grab their favorite food and snacks to munch on while watching the games. And, as ever, chicken wings are high on the list when visiting your favorite sports bar or stocking up for a watch party at home.

In Columbia and the surrounding area there are numerous restaurants — from hole-in-the-wall spots to long-running establishments and beyond — where customers can grab a hot plate of wings. Now, The State wants you to vote for your favorite from a list of 21 places, selected by the newspaper’s staff, in the 2026 Midlands Chicken Wings Poll.

As always, let’s set some ground rules. For this unscientific poll we kept it to mostly locally-owned places or reasonably small chains, rather than include any massive national chains. (Sorry, Wingstop and Buffalo Wild Wings loyalists.) And we kept the poll to brick and mortar restaurants. (Sorry, food truck fans.)

To be absolutely, positively certain, this is not an exhaustive, comprehensive list of every single restaurant in the Midlands that serves chicken wings. It is simply a sampling of some of the many places in the area, chosen by newspaper staffers.

You have until 11:59 p.m. Monday, March 23 to vote in the poll below. The restaurants are presented in alphabetical order.

So vote early and vote often, and don’t forget that extra cup of ranch.
