A popular ice cream shop announced it was coming to Columbia. Now we know where
Last week, popular ice cream company Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams announced it was expanding to several cities, including Columbia.
Now we know exactly where they’ll be setting up shop in the Capital City.
Jeni’s upcoming Columbia shop will be in the BullStreet District in downtown Columbia, according to a Thursday post on BullStreet’s Instagram. It will be on the first floor of the Bennet at BullStreet apartment development, not far from the Gather COLA food hall and a new community lawn that is under development in the district.
“The scoop is out,” the BullStreet District said on social media. “Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is officially coming to the @bullstreetsc! We can’t wait for this nationally loved ice cream shop to bring its one-of-a-kind flavors to The Lawn — from post-dinner treats to sunny afternoons spent outside, your future plans just got a whole lot sweeter.”
Jeni’s currently has nearly three dozen ice cream shops across the U.S., per a shop locator tool on its website. Current South Carolina locations include spots in Charleston, Greenville and Mount Pleasant. The company’s products also are available in various grocery stores and can be shipped nationwide.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is known for unique flavors, such as Earl Grey Crème brûlée (which is inspired by the hit show “Bridgerton”), Bay Leaf Cheesecake, and Watermelon Taffy, among many others.
An opening date for the BullStreet location hasn’t been publicly announced.
