One motorcyclist dead after collision with pickup on Richland County road

A motorcyclist died after colliding with a vehicle attempting to make a left turn in Richland County around 2:25 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The fatal traffic collision occurred on St. Andrews Road near Lawrence St., according to Cpl. Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The incident is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol.

A 2005 Suzuki motorcycle and 2015 GMC pickup collided. The pickup driver did not have injuries, but the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where they later died, Pye said.

The motorcyclist was traveling east and the GMC pickup driver was heading west and attempting to turn left into a private drive, according to Pye.
