‘Dutch’ treat: National coffee chain opens new Midlands locations. Here’s where
A growing national coffee chain has opened its first locations in the Midlands area, converting shops that previously were owned by another company.
Dutch Bros Coffee, which has locations in a number of states, has recently opened several new drive-thru stores in the area. Those include shops at 9349 Two Notch Road and 4716 Devine St. in Columbia, 308 Columbia Ave. near downtown Lexington, and at 1511 Lake Murray Blvd. in Irmo.
The new coffee shops have quickly proven popular. For instance Lexington location was busy with cars when a reporter went by during the weekend, and the Devine Street location had customers’ cars wrapped around the building on Monday morning, though the line was moving quickly.
These four new Midlands Dutch Bros locations came about after the company in January bought out Clutch Coffee Co., which previously had stores at those sites. The Clutch Coffee Co. locations closed Jan. 16 and the process began to convert them to Dutch Bros.
Dutch Bros Coffee has more than 1,000 locations across the U.S., many in the western part of the country. The company was founded in 1992 in Oregon and is now headquartered in Arizona.
The menu at Dutch Bros includes coffee, energy drinks, teas, smoothies, hot cocoa, chai lattes, blended frozen drinks, and snacks such as muffin tops and granola bars.
