A portion of a Lexington County road is closed, the South Carolina Department of Transportation announced, while a pipe is being repaired.

Platt Springs Road between McCartha Road and Cannon Trail, near Calvary Springs Community Church and not far from Carolina Springs Middle School, will not be accessible starting Monday. Platt Springs Road will be open to local traffic only, except at the repair site, according to a news release.

Repairs are expected to continue for several days, until April 3 around 4 p.m.

SCDOT has created a detour route as a result of the closure, which direct traffic towards Nazareth Road. SCDOT asks drivers to slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
