A new store for University of South Carolina gear and other sports apparel has set an opening date in a popular Columbia neighborhood.

Rally House, which has stores across the nation, will open a new location on April 10 at 818 Harden St. in Five Points, according to a Tuesday release from the company. The new shop will be right around the corner from Group Therapy.

“As we prepare to open our doors, we’re not just launching a store — we’re looking to build meaningful partnerships across Columbia,” Rally House said in the release. “We see this as an opportunity to contribute to the city’s continued economic growth, create local jobs, and establish a destination that celebrates the passion of sports fans throughout the Midlands.”

The company added in the release that it is “excited to support Gamecock athletics and connect with students, alumni, and the broader community.”

Headquartered in Kansas, there are 300 Rally House stores across the U.S. The shops typically offer apparel and gifts for professional and college sports teams, and are usually heavily themed to the teams of the town they are in.

For example, the company opened Rally House Clemson last April, its first Palmetto State store. It touted at the time that the Clemson outpost carries “an outrageous selection of Clemson gear such as jerseys, hats, socks, signs, gifts and more.”
