A new clothing store is planned for a popular mall in one of Columbia’s key retail districts.
Designers Closet, which focuses on contemporary clothing and streetwear and has stores in several states, is planning a new location in the Columbiana Centre Mall in the Harbison shopping district. The store was listed as “coming soon” on the directory Columbiana Centre’s website as of Wednesday and has been touted by Designers Closet on social media.
“Columbia… it’s official,” Designers Closet posted on Instagram on Feb. 19. “Designers Closet is coming soon to Columbiana Centre. Get ready for Purple Brand, Valabasas, mixed emotions, Vale forever, Lanvin, Antidote and more.” That Instagram post was liked nearly 700 times.
An interactive map on Columbiana Centre’s website indicates the Designers Closet would be going in the area of the mall that’s near Dillard’s. It would be in the space between Aerie and Vans. The space was not yet occupied as of Tuesday afternoon.
Designers Closet currently has locations in Florida, North Carolina and Georgia, including spots in the Northlake Mall in Charlotte and Augusta Mall in Augusta.
The Columbiana Centre mall remains a popular shopping hub, with a number of department stores, smaller shops, restaurants and other amenities. It is part of the larger Harbison commercial area northwest of downtown Columbia that is lined with big box stores, bars, eateries, hotels, movie theaters and more.
