An Aiken man was shot and killed Thursday evening at “a residence” on Kedron Church Road, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.

Aiken Sheriff’s deputies responded around 5:43 p.m. Thursday to the 900 block of Kedron Church Road for a report of a person shot, the sheriff’s office said. When deputies arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner identified the victim as 24-year-old Justin Bryant. The coroner’s office said it was notified at 5:53 p.m., and Bryant was pronounced dead at 6:28 p.m. He died from a gunshot wound and will be autopsied next week in Newberry.

An investigation into the shooting remains open. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 803-642-1761.
