Sumter sheriff’s office launching homicide investigation into death of teen

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a teenager as a homicide, according to a Friday news release.

Lynchburg 19-year-old Robert Edward Gamble was found dead early Thursday morning after police were called to a home on Narrow Paved Road in Sumter County.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death as a homicide and is asking anyone with information to contact the office at 803-436-2000. Anonymous tips can be submitted at p3tips.com.

More information on the investigation will be released as it progresses, the release also notes.
