A stolen NC vehicle turned up in SC. Now, a Blythewood man has been charged

A Blythewood man has been charged with vehicle fraud after police found him with a stolen vehicle at a Kershaw County truck stop, which had been reported stolen two days prior in North Carolina.

In October, Joshua Sidney Gibson, 34, was found at a Love’s Travel Stop on White Pond Road in Kershaw County with a 2024 Kawasaki KRX that had been reported stolen two days prior.

The Polk County Sheriff Office in Columbus, North Carolina received the report of the vehicle being stolen Oct. 7, 2025. Gibson was identified two days later at the Love’s truck stop.

Gibson was identified by a witness through a photo lineup, according to a news release from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

He was booked into the Kershaw County Detention Center following his arrest.
