Authorities pulled a body from Lake Murray this week after receiving a report that a 75-year-old woman was missing.

The deceased person’s identity has not been revealed, but an incident report shows that a woman parked her car at a park near the Lake Murray dam about noon Wednesday and began walking on a pathway near the dam.

Her husband called to say she was missing and may have had dementia, according to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department incident report. The body was found Thursday, the apparent result of an accident, the department said.

“Earlier this morning, Lexington County deputies were on the Irmo side of the dam at Lake Murray investigating what appears to be an accidental drowning,’’ department spokesman Adam Myrick said in an email. “LCSD dive team members staged there, entered the water and, eventually, recovered the body. Our work on the case continues.’’
