One person killed in a head-on collision in Greenville County, officials say
One person was killed in a collision involving three vehicles Friday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The incident took place on US-25 in Greenville County, authorities said.
One of the vehicles, a 2007 Mini Cooper, was traveling south on US-25 near West Georgia Road.
The other two vehicles, a 2015 Lexus SUV and a 2005 Nissan SUV, were traveling north. The Nissan changed lanes, striking the Lexus.
The Nissan then ran off the road to the right and overturned. The driver and passenger were not injured. The Lexus then crossed the center line and struck the Mini Cooper traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Mini Cooper died at the scene. The driver of the Lexus was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities have not identified the driver killed in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
