Where can you find the best beer in the Columbia area? Vote for your favorite spot in our poll

Not everyone drinks beer for the flavor, but for enthusiasts, there are plenty of great breweries, taverns and taprooms that serve delicious beers in the Columbia area.

Even though the percentage of people in the U.S. who consume alcohol has decreased significantly (67% in 2022, 54% in 2025), largely due to growing health concerns, beer is still the most preferred alcoholic beverage, especially among young adults and men.

The hunt for Busch Light Apple, also popularly known as “Bapple,” is just one example of how college students and young adults are nevertheless dedicated to the pursuit of beer, despite decreased alcohol consumption overall.

So what’s everyone’s favorite beer joint, out of the hundreds of restaurants and bars in the Columbia area?

To find out, we selected 21 spots in the Columbia area known for their beer selections and good vibes, and added them to our poll.

This is not an exhaustive, comprehensive list of every single spot to get a beer in the Columbia area. Rather, it’s a wide-ranging selection representing the variety our city offers.

In the unscientific poll, you will see breweries, sports bars, biergartens and restaurants. When voting for your favorite beer joint, don’t discount the unique atmospheres and tasty food each place strives to make.
