A new Half-Moon Outfitters store opens in a busy Lexington area. Here’s where
A popular company known for offering clothing, gear and equipment for the outdoors has opened a new location in a well-known development near downtown Lexington.
Half-Moon Outfitters, which has a number of stores across the South, recently debuted a new location in the Old Mill at 711 E. Main St. in Lexington. The Half-Moon shop is on the upper floor of the main Old Mill building, not far from the Old Mill Brewpub restaurant.
“Half-Moon Outfitters is now open at the Lexington Old Mill, bringing thoughtfully curated gear, trusted brands, and a passion for the outdoors to the heart of Lexington, SC,” Half-Moon Outfitters said in a June 5 Facebook post. “Whether you’re heading out to camp, on the water, or just enjoying the everyday outdoors with a walk along the Old Mill Pond Trail, we’re here to help you make the most of it. Stop in and say hello to the hard-working team who made it all happen!”
There are more than a dozen Half-Moon Outfitters stores nationwide, according to the locations page on the company’s website, mostly in the Southeast. This marks the first location in Lexington, SC. There is a location at 2912 Devine St. in Columbia.
Half-Moon Outfitters has offerings from a host of brands that are well known to outdoors enthusiasts, including Birkenstock, CamelBak, Hoka, The Original Muck Boot Company, Patagonia and many other labels. The outfitter has clothing for men, women and kids, and gear stretching from everything from camping tents and paddleboards to backpacks and skateboards.
The Lexington Half-Moon is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, per a Google listing for the store.
The Lexington Old Mill continues to be a popular gathering place on East Main Street. Aside from the new Half-Moon, it’s also home to restaurants such as Creekside, Old Mill Brewpub, Hazelwood Brewing Company and coffee shop The Tent. Freeway Music has a music school there, and Wood and Fabric furniture store is among several shops. And the Old Mill Pond Trail has become an increasingly popular destination for those looking for a scenic walk with sweeping views of the large pond.
