A private rooftop pool club will open on Main Street in downtown Greenville this summer.

Located in the six-story apartment/retail building at 600 S. Main, the pool overlooks Falls Park and the Reedy River. The building known as Falls Park Place includes Jianna Italian Restaurant and Lululemon, six apartments ranging from 1,196 to 3,100 square feet and corporate offices for Duke Brands.

Cabana Falls Club is the latest business from Erica and Jake James, who founded the women’s fitness center The Booty Shop and Vista View Productions.

Erica James is a 2015 graduate of Clemson University where she was the first legally blind cheerleader. She was born with tumors in an eye, underwent successful treatment, yet has been slowly losing her vision ever since.

Her creation, The Booty Club, was founded several years ago with a signature pink decor on Main Street, offering an array of fitness programs with a mimosa afterward. Beer and wine are also available.

Jake James graduated with a degree in education from Newberry College in 2013, but instead became an independent contractor for WWE, then pursued video production in 2017 after moving to Greenville.

The pool was once Topside Pool Club, which closed in May 2024 due to the state’s increase in alcohol liability insurance premiums.

The James’ are renovating the pool and bar area with tile, countertops, and paint.

“Our goal for Cabana Falls is to create a relaxing atmosphere where members can enjoy a unique space year round,” a statement on the club’s website said. “We want to build community with all of you and hope you enjoy what we’ve created for years to come.”

The heated pool, heaters and fire pits will allow the club to stay open during the colder months.

The club is offering founding memberships to the first 50 members whose dues will remain the same for as long as they are members. That comes with a $600 one-time contribution and monthly dues of $195 for individuals and $260 for families.

The pool is one of several rooftop businesses in downtown Greenville, including bars at Embassy Suites and AC Hotel. The Aloft Greenville Downtown Hotel has a rooftop pool and bar.
