One person dead after SC crash between truck and moped, coroner says

A moped driver died after a crash with a truck on a South Carolina road.

Per a release from the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, the wreck happened at about 11:40 p.m. on July 2 in the area of Dacusville Highway and Dalton Road in Marietta, SC. There was a collision between a Dodge 1500 crew cab truck and a moped.

The driver of the moped died at the scene, the coroner’s office said. The name of the deceased had not been released as of early Saturday morning, pending notification of the moped driver’s family.

A forensic autopsy is scheduled for Monday, the coroner’s office said. The crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office.
