Shark bite reported in Garden City
A 15-year-old boy was bitten by a shark in Garden City around 12:30 p.m. today, according to Capt. Jerry Howerton, with Murrells Inlet-Garden City fire.
The teen was in about chest deep water around the 1600 block of Waccamaw Drive when the small shark bit him on the leg.
When the teen tried to push the shark away, it bit him on the hand. The teen was transported to an area hospital for his injuries, which are not life-threatening.
