Water balloons were the weapons of choice Friday evening as teams battled it out on the grounds of the Robert Mills House on Blanding Street.

The goal was for people to learn about military tactics used throughout history – and afterward, relax with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the historic site. (Not that military maneuvers usually involve posh refreshments.)

It was all part of Historic Columbia’s monthly Happy Hour program – and a Famously Hot way to cool down in August.
