Lexington County coroner identifies victim of fatal collision in Pelion

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified the individual who died during a single-vehicle collision in Pelion Tuesday evening.

Coroner Margaret Fisher said 25-year-old Kevin E. Rentz, of Neeses, was pronounced dead at the scene after he sustained injuries from the crash. Rentz was the only occupant of the vehicle, she said.

Fisher said the collision occurred in the 1100 block of Crystal Springs Drive in Pelion. South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision. It was unclear from the coroner’s statement if Rentz was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
