Columbia man dies in 3-wheel motorcycle wreck
A 58-year-old Columbia man driving a 3-wheel motorcycle, died early Wednesday morning after colliding head-on with a pickup truck Tuesday night.
Richland County coroner Gary Watts identified the man as Alfred Davis Jr. of Lake Carolina Drive in Columbia.
The collision occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Hines Road in northern Richland County.
A 2011 pickup truck heading north on Hines Road crossed the center line and struck Davis, Bob Beres of the SC Highway Patrol said. Davis, who according to Beres was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was taken to the hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at 1:48 a.m., Watts said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
