Teenage son held in Simpsonville mother’s stabbing death
A woman who was found dead at her home here died of stab wounds to the torso, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office said Wednesday.
Isabel Cristina Zuluaga, 44, of 208 Hipps Ave., was discovered dead about 9 a.m. Tuesday at her home in Simpsonville, the Coroner’s Office said.
The woman’s 13-year-old son was taken into custody Tuesday in connection with the death, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said. The teen was forwarded to Family Court, Master Deputy Jonathan Smith said. Authorities are not releasing the boy’s name because of his age.
Authorities have not released the circumstances that led to the woman’s death, but the coroner ruled it a homicide.
Deputies found the 13-year-old shortly before noon Tuesday walking on Woodruff Road in Greenville County near the Spartanburg County line, Smith said.
