Columbia Police report minor injuries, portion I-126 temporarily closed after vehicle overturned

The Columbia Police Department confirmed that a vehicle overturned on Interstate 126 Monday night, temporarily closing the roadway.

One person was taken to the hospital with what doesn’t appear to be life-threatening injuries based on a preliminary report from Public Information Officer Jennifer Timmons. She added that the one-vehicle accident which occurred near 9 p.m. appears to be the result of the driver losing control. That cause hasn’t been determined.

Because of the accident, Timmons said a portion of I-126 near the Greystone Blvd. Exit was temporarily closed. The incident is under investigation and the names of those involved haven’t been released.
