Prosecutor: Dorchester County Coroner charged with misconduct
A prosecutor says Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet is expected to turn himself in on a charge of misconduct in office.
Media outlets reported that prosecutor David Pascoe said the State Law Enforcement Division issued a warrant against Nisbet for an incident in Summerville last month.
The charge stems from an incident Aug. 25 between Nisbet and a neighbor in which Summerville police said Nisbet pulled a gun on the neighbor.
Nesbit told the Summerville police that the neighbor, Leroy Fulton, had pulled a gun on a repossession worker.
Nisbet had requested a SLED investigation of the incident.
Misconduct in office carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
