Lexington County Coroner releases name of woman killed in single-vehicle accident Saturday

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released the name of a person who died following a single-vehicle accident on Saturday.

Barbara R. Davis, 58, died on the scene of the accident which occurred on Ben Franklin Rd. in Gilbert, near 10 p.m. and was reported by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Lance Corporal Judd Jones said Davis was driving alone in a 2016 Toyota Camry when the car went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Jones said the Gilbert resident wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis suffered multiple body trauma according to an autopsy performed by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, which is still investigating the accident along with the Highway Patrol.
