USC Fraternity Council names 8 chapters cleared of recruitment violations
The University of South Carolina Fraternity Council on Friday released the names of the eight fraternities that have been cleared of allegations of recruitment violations.
Last week, 13 of the school’s 17 largest fraternity chapters were suspended from recruiting new members after reports of alcohol violations. Five days later, all of those chapters were allowed to continue their recruitment processes.
These chapters were found to have not committed any bylaw violations: Alpha Epsilon Pi, Alpha Tau Omega, Kappa Alpha Order, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Sigma, Phi Sigma Kappa, Sigma Chi and Tau Kappa Epsilon.
The remaining five chapters that were initially suspended from recruitment activity but not among those cleared of violations are: Chi Psi, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Phi Gamma Delta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Theta Chi.
