Midlands area drug take-back Saturday

Midlands area law enforcement agencies encourage citizens with old medication stashes - prescription or over-the-counter drugs - to bring the drugs to drop-off locations this Saturday for safe disposal.

Old, unused or expired medications can be dropped off in Richland County at sheriff department headquarters at 5623 Two Notch Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Lexington, the drop-off location is the CVS Pharmacy at 5609 Sunset Blvd, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

It is important that any medications dropped off for disposal have all personal identifying information removed from the bottle or obscured by a black magic marker.
