Columbia mayor says city curfew begins at 6 p.m. Sunday

The City of Columbia will have a mandatory curfew beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday across the city, according to mayor Steve Benjamin. In addition, Sheriff Leon Lott has set the same curfew for Richland County.

The curfew comes after a day of floods across the Midlands that caused roads to close and damage to homes and businesses.

All City of Columbia water customers were advised to boil their water for at least a minute before drinking or cooking.
