Lugoff firefighter named Firefighter of the Year

A Lugoff firefighter was named the 2015 Firefighter of the Year by the Lugoff Optimist Club earlier this month.

Lt. Gavine Locklear has worked with Lugoff Fire-Rescue since February 2012, according to a media release. He also serves on the Lugoff Swift Water Rescue Team and Special Operations Team.

“Lt. Locklear has a sincere passion for the firefighting profession and it shows in his work ethic,” said Lugoff Fire-Rescue Chief Dennis Ray. “He is very enthusiastic about seeing our department and profession progress forward.”
