COLUMBIA, SC

South Carolina Department of Transportation officials said they will be reopening Garners Ferry Road Thursday afternoon after it was closed for more than a week following historic floods that enveloped the city.

Officials said the roadway will open to traffic at 1:30 p.m.

Motorists traveling through the area are urged to use caution as SCDOT workers may still be operating in the area.
