Trenholm Road remained closed for over a week following historic flooding that swept through the state. It was reopened by SCDOT officials Friday.

South Carolina Department of Transportation officials said part of Trenholm Road in the Forest Acres area has been reopened to traffic Friday morning after it was closed following historic flooding that enveloped the state.

Officials said they have cleared the roadway from Tanglewood Road to Wyndham Road and it is deemed safe for traffic.

Other Richland County road openings announced Friday included:

▪  Old Tamaha Road near Dutch Fork High School

▪  Part of North Main Street at the fire station from Sunset Drive to River Drive.

▪  Sunset Drive from River Drive to North Main Street

The announcement comes a day after officials reopened Garners Ferry Road and a portion of North Main Street, both also closed following the floods.

Motorists are urged to use caution and be on the lookout for any remaining SCDOT workers still operating in the area.
