Riverfront Park to remain closed for repairs

Columbia city officials said the Riverfront Park will be closed to the public while needed repairs are being made after historic flooding damaged portions of the park on Oct. 4 and Oct. 5.

The park, located at 312 Laurel St., is expected to remain closed for the next 30 days, officials said.

As the park undergoes repairs, officials recommend that guests visit the following parks, with assigned walking trails, which are open Monday through Sunday from dawn to dusk:

▪  Granby Park, 100 Catawba St.

▪  Earlewood Park, 1111 Parkside Dr. (Enter from River Drive)

▪  Maxcy Gregg Park, 1651 Park Circle

▪  Drew Park, beside the Charles R. Drew Wellness Center, 2101 Walker Solomon Way

For more information, citizens are urged to call the Parks and Recreation Department at (803) 545-3100.
