Absentee voting in Columbia election started Saturday

Columbia residents who qualify to vote absentee in the Nov. 3 race for two contested City Council seats may begin casting those ballots on Saturday.

The Richland County Elections & Voter Registration office at 2020 Hampton St. will open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The office is open during regular weekday business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Nov. 2, a Monday, is the last day to vote absentee in the campaign to elect a citywide and a District 2 council representatives. No one filed to oppose District 3 Councilman Moe Baddorah.
