Popular TV anchor Ben Hoover will add a new role Monday.

Hoover, an anchor with WOLO, will start a video commentary for The POINT! (WQXL, 95.9 FM and 1470 AM), according to Keven Cohen, founder of The POINT! and a longtime radio personality.

The video – called “What’s the Point with Ben Hoover!” – will appear Monday through Friday on the www.makethepointradio.com web site, as well as on the radio station each morning during Mornings with Kev.

Hoover will give “his personal touch talking about things that impact all of us” in the Midlands, Cohen said in an email.

“Ben Hoover is a phenomenal talent and a significant part of Columbia’s local landscape,” Cohen said. “We are thrilled to have him with us on our web site and radio station. It’s a great way to celebrate The POINT!’s 2nd birthday.”

Hoover, formerly of WIS, was hired in August by ABC affiliate WOLO. He is now appears with Alicia Barnes and John Farley, another former WIS staffer who joined WOLO this month.
