Repeal of boil water advisory for in Chapin area
A boil water advisory has been repealed for water customers of in Amicks Ferry Road area of Chapin by the City of Columbia Water Works.
According to the city, customers in the area that includes Zion Church Road, Broomstraw Road, Hufield Road and all of Turkey Farm Subdivision (Turkey Beard Court, Turkey Ridge Court, Turkey Ridge Drive, Turkey Pointe Lane, Tail Feather Way), located in Lexington County, no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.
Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Columbia Water Works. The results indicate the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.
