Student email in Lexington-Richland 5 suspended through weekend
Students in Lexington-Richland 5 can resume email use Monday after a brief suspension stemming from what school spokesman Mark Bounds said Friday was “foul language.”
That message led to shutdown of service Thursday for the 16,500 pupils in advance of a one for technology update planned this weekend, he said.
School officials monitor online messages in classrooms along the north side of Lake Murray, enabling “immediate containment of damage” if one has unacceptable expression, Bounds said.
The student whose message led to the suspension faces “appropriate disciplinary action,” Bounds said. He declined to say what that means.
