Sumter County deputies searching for man on “Most Wanted” list for sexually assaulting a minor

Sumter County deputies are searching for a suspect that has been placed on the sheriff’s office “Most Wanted” list for sexually assaulting a minor.

Braden Bunch, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said they are searching for 37-year-old Leon John Sohnemann who is wanted on arrest warrants relating to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, as well as contempt of magistrate court charges.

Bunch said Sohnemann’s last known address is 1550 Bar Zee Drive in Sumter.

Sohnemann is described as a white male standing 5-foot 7-inches and weighs approximately 180-pounds, Bunch said. He has a receding hairline with brown hair, green eyes and facial hair.
