Teens charged with assaulting, robbing a man near USC
Two teenagers have been charged with assaulting and robbing a man on Blossom Street early Sunday morning.
Mailke McGill, 18, and Christopher Brunswick, 19, are charged with second degree assault and battery, strong arm robbery and criminal conspiracy, according to the Columbia Police Department.
The pair is accused of striking and kicking a 23-year-old man while he walked alone along the 1700 block of Blossom Street just before 2 a.m. Sunday. The man’s injuries were not life threatening, but he did suffer cuts and bruises on his face, according to the Police Department.
Police say the teens also stole the man’s wallet.
A South Region officer on patrol found the suspects at the intersection of Devine and Harden Streets shortly after the incident.
The Police Department is continuing to investigate.
