Two arrests made in connection with Holly Hill shooting deaths
Orangeburg County deputies have charged two suspects in connection with the investigation into the shooting deaths of four people in Holly Hill in July.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said 26-year-old Dominique Washington, of Ladson, was charged with obstruction of justice on Wednesday and was denied bond.
Ravenell said a second individual has also been charged with obstruction of justice, but their identity is not being released by investigators at this time due to safety reasons. Bond for the second subject was also denied.
“We feel this person’s life would be placed in jeopardy if we were to release their name. We ask that the media respect this,” Ravenell said in a statement. “That information will be released at a later date yet to be determined in order not to jeopardize another life.”
Ravenell said the two arrests stem from two separate interviews conducted recently in relation to the July 15 shooting deaths of four people, including two teenage girls, at a home in Holly Hill. A fifth person, an 8-year-old boy, was severely wounded in the shooting but survived.
Christopher Wright, the father of the teens and the child, was arrested shortly after the shootings on drug-related charges.
