Columbia hosts African-American Mayors Association Leadership Summit
Columbia is hosting the inaugural African-American Mayors Association Leadership Summit on Saturday.
Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin was elected president of the association in May.
The leadership conference features mayors, business leaders and policy experts from around the nation who are discussing a variety of topics including health care and justice reform, broadband policy and emergency preparedness.
“Our cities are facing some serious challenges,” Benjamin said in a statement. “The AAMA Leadership Summit is our opportunity to bring some of the top minds in the nation together and find new, creative ways to meet those challenges with solutions and secure a better, brighter future for all.”
