Foul play not suspected in death of man discovered in downtown Columbia
A dead man was found in downtown Columbia Sunday, but the Columbia Police Department doesn’t suspect foul play was involved in the death.
The unidentified man was discovered shortly before 6 p.m. on the 1600 block of Assembly St., across from the U.S. Post Office between Taylor and Blanding streets, said Columbia Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Timmons.
“We don’t suspect foul play at this time,” said Timmons, adding an investigation is ongoing and details about the dead man would be released by the coroners office.
