Oxygen masks for pets donated to Kershaw fire trucks
Pets in Kershaw County just got a little safer.
Every fire truck in the county will be equipped with a pet oxygen mask kit thanks to a donation of 28 kits from Dr. Brian Spilker of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in Lugoff.
The kits, which contain one small, one medium and one large pet oxygen mask, will help save animal lives in the aftermath of structure fires.
“Pets play a very important role in the lives of families, and we desire to do all we can to help them when they suffer from fire incidents that occur,” Lugoff Fire-Rescue Chief Dennis Ray said.
Pet Oxygen Kit Project, which provided the kits for Spilker’s donation, has a goal to equip every fire truck across the state with pet oxygen masks.
