Man charged with DUI after speeding at 115 mph, police say
Kershaw County deputies arrested 12 drivers on DUI charges over the holiday weekend – including one man who was allegedly traveling at 115 mph.
John Edward Hannah, 28, was charged with driving under the influence after deputies stopped him for speeding at 115 mph on Interstate 20, according to a media release. This is the second time within five months the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Hannah on a DUI charge.
The first arrest came in June 2015 when Hannah was clocked traveling at 114 mph, also on I-20, the release says. That arrest is still pending in the court system.
During the weekend of Nov. 28, the Sheriff’s Office traffic unit made 12 DUI arrests for impaired driving with alcohol, heroin and marijuana use involved, according to the release. Of those 12 arrests only one was on I-20. The remaining 11 arrests were on secondary roads in Kershaw County.
