2 injured in drug-related shootout

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC A dispute over drugs ended with suspects in two vehicles shooting at each other Saturday night, investigators say.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of shots fired at 220 Spring Tree Drive at 9 p.m. Saturday, sheriff’s spokesman Curtis Wilson said. Deputies recovered one of the vehicles involved at the scene and continue to search for the other vehicle.

Two suspects were driven to Providence Northeast Hospital in a personal vehicle, Wilson said. Investigators are working to identify whomever transported them. The suspects were then taken to Palmetto Health Richland by EMS.

Their condition is unknown as of Sunday morning.

The Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate, and asks anyone with information on the case to call crimestoppers.
