Orangeburg County deputies search for suspect wanted for attempted murder

Orangeburg County deputies are searching for a man they say fired several shots at the mother of his child and her acquaintance Saturday night.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said several arrest warrants have been filed for 29-year-old Jonathan Green for attempted murder in connection with the shooting.

Ravenell said Green allegedly fired several shots into an Omega Court home after following his child’s mother and her male acquaintance to the home.

The male victim told investigators that he and the female victim were traveling near Five Chop Road when they spotted Green who then started to follow them, Ravenell said. When the victims arrived at the Omega Court residence, Ravenell said they ran inside, which is when Green is alleged to have started shooting several rounds into the home.

The male victim told investigators he watched as bullets “came through the wall,” Ravenell said.
