Children’s Trust of South Carolina is distributing more than 100 car seats to families affected by the historic flooding in October.

The seats were donated by Britax, a global manufacturer of car seats and other child care products, according to a news release.

"We are so grateful to Britax, a strong partner of our focus on child passenger safety," said Heidi Aakjer, the South Carolina manager of Safe Kids, said in the release. "The generous support shown by Britax to South Carolina families affected by the flood will have a meaningful impact on their lives."

Bubblebum, a car booster seat company, donated 12 booster seats.

The seats will be distributed to Federal Emergency Management Agency-designated counties across the state. Recipients will be required to show a Red Cross or FEMA identification number, the release said.
