Couple’s killer ransacked Aiken County home after shooting
AIKEN, S.C. (AP) – The Aiken County sheriff says the killer who shot a couple and their dog earlier this month also appears to have spent time ransacking their house looking for things to steal after the killings.
Sheriff Michael Hunt released a statement Thursday saying the killer likely knew 70-year-old Sandra Cochran and 74-year-old Louis “Baker” Cochran. Their bodies were found Dec. 8.
Hunt says Sandra Cochran and the dog were found inside the Jackson home and Baker Cochran’s body was outside. The coroner has said each was shot several times.
The sheriff says the killer stole the couple’s car, which has been recovered. He would not say where.
Hunt says he worries the person who killed the Cochrans will kill again and is asking anyone with any information to call deputies.
