Coroner identifies man fatally shot in Lexington County

The Lexington County Coroner has identified the victim who was fatally shot on Berryhill Road Saturday night.

Felix Jamal Jones,35, of Newberry, S.C., was shot in the upper body and died at the scene.

He was shot at an apartment complex near the Red Roof Inn, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The motel is near St. Andrews Road, not far from the intersection of I-20 and I-26.

The victim was driven to the motel parking lot after he was shot, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The case remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner‘s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
