Is Columbia headed for a famously hot Christmas?

The high temperature on Christmas Day in Columbia could tie or break a record set in 1955, according to the National Weather Service.

On that day, 60 years ago, the mercury hit 79.

“The high this Christmas will be approaching 80,” said National Weather forecaster Dan Miller on Tuesday.

But Miller said we will have to wait and see.
