Craiglist armed robbery lands Aiken man in jail
A Craigslist transaction gone wrong has landed an Aiken man in jail with a slew of charges.
Quinten Oneal Gleaton, 22, has been charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to a release from the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
The charges stem from an Oct. 14 incident where a man from Jacksonville, Florida was robbed at gunpoint when he traveled to Aiken to purchase a vehicle advertised on Craigslist.
The case remains open as investigators seek the identity of a second suspect involved in the armed robbery. Anyone with information related to the robbery should contact Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME_SC. Callers may remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1000.
