One shot during early Saturday fight on Hard Scrabble Road

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC One person was shot during a fight on Hard Scrabble Road in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Hard Scrabble Road at 12:30 a.m. regarding a fight in progress. While they were on their way, the call was upgraded to shots fired.

The victim was transported to Providence Hospital by a friend and immediately transported to Palmetto Health Richland by EMS, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. He was shot in the upper body, and his condition is unknown at this time.

Deputies recovered a gun, which was determined to be stolen, at the scene in the parking lot.
